Iron Cove Classic

This Sunday is the first of the three ICC regattas. These regattas are a 7km time trial, with crews racing down the bay and around Cockatoo Island and back. We have 10 Leichhardt crews entered, which is fantastic! The first boat to start is at 7.21am and I would expect crews to start arriving back to LRC by around 7.50 – 8am. As there are many LRC crews, please expect some congestion when you return, and you will need to be patient as not everyone will be able to get off the water straight away. Our Juniors are training on Sunday morning too, so please be aware they will need space on the pontoon, and we may need to wait for them to boat, in this case perhaps your crew could do a warm down lap. Pymble also trains on Sunday, they are aware of the regatta and hopefully most of their crews will have boated by the time we return, but if not, please share this space and be as helpful as possible.

All crews and coxswains, please also read the rules for this regatta and ensure you know the course map and what to do if you are passing a crew or being passed. And very importantly, never row back through the finish line on your return to the shed, you will be disqualified, plus this is a dangerous act and must not be done at any regatta. Please observe the traffic flow when returning after your race. You can find all this information up on the RNSW website on the regatta information page.

Best of luck to everyone racing!
