Function hall hire at LRC - FAQs Contact details are at the foot of the page How much does it cost? There are three charges for hiring the function space. 1 $800 hire fee 2 $400 surety bond 3 $250 payment for the security guard ($300 if starting before 6pm) LRC reserves the right to review the hire charges without notice.
Who can hire the hall at LRC? The club hires the function space to the general public to support its rowing expenses. Approval for hires is based on compliance with Leichhardt Rowing Club’s standards for clubhouse security and environmental suitability.
What does the hire include? The hire includes use of the function hall and adjacent balcony, kitchen and its equipment, and 17 tables and chairs to seat 120 people.
Does LRC provide plates and glasses? No, the hirer provides all crockery, glassware and cutlery.
What time can I have access on the day? Access to the room is available from 1 pm on the day of the function. Delivery of hire or catering equipment will not be accepted before 1 pm — this is not negotiable.
Does LRC cater? No we do not do food catering. The club recommends Gourmet Fare Catering: contact George on 0412 233 039 or email: george@gourmetfarecatering.com.au. Please mention this recommendation.
Am I required to clean the hall? Yes, you must clean the hall after your function. LRC will make sure the room is clear and clean before the start of your function, and requires that you leave in the hall in the condition that you found it (a vacuum cleaner is provided). Failure to do so will result in a charge being levied against the surety bond.
Am I required to remove my rubbish? Yes, you must remove all rubbish from the premises. There are club bins provided and are located to the side of the entrance. Any rubbish which can’t go into these bins must be removed by the hirer on the day.
Does LRC provide a PA system? No, there is no PA system in the building.
Does the LRC hall have disabled access? Yes. There is an inclinator for going up and down the stairs. You will need to notify us in advance if you want to use it (to ensure the access is available).
Is there a carpark? Directly in front of the boat shed, at the foot of Glover St.
Does the hall have water views? Yes, the hall overlooks the water with 180-degree views. We do not have city views.
Is smoking permitted in the hall? No, smoking is not permitted in the hall or on the upstairs balcony. This must be strictly observed.
How much noise can I make? Noise and music are to be kept to background levels outside the hall, and for this reason we require birthday parties for young adults to be supervised by adults. Hirers must be considerate toward neighbours when returning to their cars or taxicabs.
How much does it cost? How do I make a booking? 1 Email or phone to check the available dates. Email is the preferred method of communication. 2 Send the completed application and transfer the full hall hire fee and surety bond, by direct deposit, to the LRC account. If not paying by direct deposit, enclose a cheque for the full hall hire fee and surety bond. 3 This application will then be processed, and if approved your cheque will be deposited or if declined your cheque or full hall hire fee and surety bond will be returned. 4 Your booking is confirmed only upon receipt of written (including email) confirmation from LRC.
Are there any cancellation fees? Yes. A $100 administration fee is charged up till 4 weeks before the booking date. After this time the hire fee is non refundable (the surety bond will be returned to you). Can I get access to see the function space? To arrange an inspection, contact Deanna Fekete. The hall is available for inspection from 8.30 am till 10.30 am Saturday and Sunday mornings.
How can I pay? The preferred method for payment is direct deposit, alternatively send a cheque. Details are in the form. If you don't hear from us three days after posting the form, please contact Deanna Fekete, as sometimes the mail goes astray.
Critical: • If you don't hear from us you don't have a booking. • Booking is only made when full payment of the hall hire and the surety deposit is received. • The security guard must be paid by you on the night of the function.
