Boats, who can row in them and who cares for them

Revised boat usage policy, September 09

The LRC committee has reconfirmed the club’s commitment to providing a competitive fleet of boats for our rowers in regattas. We want to maintain our boats so they are in excellent condition, and therefore the use of the club’s boats is restricted for training purposes. Boat allocation for racing will continue to be done by the Club Captain for each regatta.

The updated (January 2010) boat usage policy and list is now available.

The September 09 version was announced in the September/October issue of Easy Oar. [The boat booking list has moved to another LRC site. Email admin@lrc.com.au if you need help finding the list.]

As always, the policy will be reviewed to ensure that it meets the club’s needs, and any changes will be communicated to members.

The club takes very seriously members rowing out of their category, without prior written approval by the Club Captain.
There are penalties for non-compliance, including removal of boating privileges and access to the club.

Any concerns about the policy in general can be addressed to the committee.

Adopt a boat
The club’s adopt a boat scheme continues, and boat responsibility is noted next to the boat in the boat booking list. Its purpose is to ensure our boat fleet is maintained on a regular basis. The up-to-date list of boat responsibilities is part of the boat booking list. [Email admin@lrc.com.au if you need help to get into the list.]
