  1.  Full time students over 18 may apply to the Club Captain in writing for approval to pay at the School Student rate, in return for contributing to the club by coaching (corporates, learn to row, juniors) and maintaining specific boats.
  2. A Family is defined as parents and their dependent school student children. This category now includes race fees.
  3. A Coxswain/Coach does not row but regularly attends the club as a coxswain and/or coach. If he/she subsequently wishes to row, then he/she must upgrade to a full rowing membership by paying the appropriate difference in fees.
  4. The Associate (Non-Competing) member is referred to as a ‘social’ rower within the club, and usually rows on Sunday mornings.
  5. A Guest Affiliate is a full member of another rowing club approved to use LRC’s facilities and/or boats on an occasional basis.
  6. A Supporter member is approved to visit the shed regularly but not to use the club’s boats and/or gym equipment. This category is not intended as an alternate option for active members.
  7. A Gym access member must be approved after introduction by a current member and has the right to use LRC’s gym facilities only, provided that the time of this access does not conflict with the use of the gym by full club members.

  • Subscriptions are due and payable on 1 July each year. Renewing members must pay their subscription no later than 1 August to be eligible to receive the Prompt Payment Allowance.
  • Any unpaid memberships will lapse on 31 October each year. Thereafter, lapsed members will not be entitled to use the club’s facilities or be entered in races. To reactivate memberships, the appropriate reactivation fee must be paid together with all the appropriate outstanding subscriptions.
  • Any member experiencing genuine financial hardship should approach the Club Captain. The club will accommodate genuine cases as much as possible.  Only the Club Captain is authorised to respond to queries on subscriptions.
  • Members must pay their subscriptions before submitting race entries to the LRC Regatta Secretary or they will not be entered in races.
  • Annual subscriptions for Senior/Probationary Competing, School Student and Family members cover the cost of most race entry fees for the current season. This excludes specific regattas such as national championships, national and state masters championships, Head of the Yarra, and other regattas as may be advised.
  • All ‘failures to start’ must be for a legitimate reason, or the race fees will be payable by the relevant member. Race entry, especially to championships, is subject to the Competition Policy and committee approval. A member who incurs a race fine is personally responsible for paying it.
  • Life Members who intend to (and do) compete during the season must pay a competition fee of $250.
  • Subscription and joining fees for New Memberships are due and payable when submitting an application to join the club which must be no later than one month after the first accessing of the clubhouse facilities.

By paying your subscription and renewing your membership of (or joining) Leichhardt Rowing Club, you are renewing (or affirming) your agreement to abide by the rules and policies of the club.
