  1. Competing members fall into three categories: Senior Active, Probationary and Associate Competing.
  2. Full time students over 18 may apply to the Club Captain for approval to pay at the School Student rate, in return for contributing to the club by coaching (corporates, learn to row, juniors) and maintaining specific boats.
  3. Non-competing (social) members row regularly on Sunday mornings and at other times as arranged by the Club, but do not race in Premiership regattas.
  4. Life members who intend to compete during the season must pay a competition fee.
  5. A Coxswain/Coach does not row but regularly attends the club as a coxswain and/or coach. If he/she subsequently wishes to row, then he/she must upgrade to a full rowing membership by paying the appropriate difference in fees.
  6. A Guest Affiliate is a full financial member of another rowing club approved to use LRC’s facilities and/or boats on an occasional basis. Guest Affiliate members who use the club's facilities on a regular bases are required to pay an additional facilities fee. This should be arranged with the Club Captain.
  7. A Supporter is a person approved to visit the shed regularly but not to use the club’s boats and/or gym equipment. This category is not intended as an alternate option for active members.
  8. Gym access rights must be approved after introduction by a current member. Gym access grants the right only to use LRC’s gym facilities while accompanied by a club member, provided that the time of this access does not conflict with the use of the gym by other club members.
Family discount: a 10% discount applies where there is more than one member from the same family.

Current members

  • Subscriptions are due and payable on 1 July each year. Renewing members must pay their subscription no later than 1 August to be eligible to receive the Prompt Payment Discount.
  • If outstanding membership fees are not paid by 1 October, notice will be given that the membership wil lapse on 31 December. After the latter date, the person concernd willnot be entitled to use the club’s facilities or be entered in races. To reactivate a lapsed membership, a new membership application form must be completed and a reactivation fee ($200 for Seniors and $100 for Juniors) must be paid together with all the appropriate outstanding subscription amounts.
  • Any member experiencing genuine financial hardship should approach the Club Captain. The club will accommodate genuine cases as much as possible.  Only the Club Captain is authorised to respond to queries on subscriptions.
  • Members must pay their subscriptions before submitting race entries to the LRC Regatta Secretary or they will not be entered in races.
  • Annual subscriptions for Competing members, School Students and Life members competing cover the cost of all race entry fees for all Premiership races in NSW for the season with the exception of the State Masters regatta. For example, members competoing in the following regattas must pay their own race fees: state and national masters championships, head races outside NSW, such as the Head of the Yarra, and other regattas as may be advised.Regardless of oayment, permission to compete in an rowing regatta or race is subject to the Club's competition policy / rules.
  • All ‘failures to start’ and 'withdrawals' must be for a legitimate reason, or the race fees will be payable by the relevant member. Race entry, especially to championships, is subject to the Competition Policy and committee approval. A member who incurs a race fine is personally responsible for paying it.
New or returning members
  •  Annual Subscription and joining fee ($100 for School Students, $200 for Competing and Non-Competing Members) for new memberships are due and payable when submitting an application to join the club, which must be no later than one month after the first accessing of the clubhouse facilities.
  • Former club members who wish to rejoin after previously resigning or letting their membership lapse must lodge a new membership application and pay a reactivation fee of $100.

By paying your subscription and renewing your membership of (or joining) Leichhardt Rowing Club, you are renewing (or affirming) your agreement to abide by the rules and policies of the club.
